Phillip A Jones Consulting LLC is honored to announce The Phillip A Jones, Jr. Scholarship fund. This fund embodies Phillip Alvin Jones, Jr. who despite being incarcerated himself, remains committed to driving societal change. Growing up in the challenging environment of inner-city Baltimore, Phillip has first hand experience of lifes many struggles, which led to his being incarcerated at the age of nineteen.

The Mission of the Scholarship: The mission of the Scholarship fund is to provide scholarships for at-risk youth in Baltimore, showing the transformative power of education as a means to avoid the lure of gang involvement.

This annual Scholarship, will provide financial assistance to three high school graduates, enabling them to pursue higher education and consequently, a brighter future. By establishing the scholarship, Phillip seeks to promote personal growth and accountability, while also, fostering hope and excellence. All while serving the powerful reminder that, ones past does not have to define their future.

Who Is Eligible: The scholarship is open to at-risk youth, between the ages of 16-21. The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to pursuing education or vocational training. The applicant must have been involved or at-risk of being recruited into a gang, with a clear desire to break free from it.

Resources and Support: The Scholarship would cover tuition, books, and other school-related expenses. It would also offer mentorship and counseling to guide recipients through the challenges they may face trying to extricate themselves from the pull of gangs. They will also be connected to local community programs which will provide further support (job placement, career development, and emotional support).

Application Requirements: The applicant must write a personal essay explaining their experiences, struggles and goals. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community leader who can speak to the youths character and potential. A clear plan for how they intend to use education to escape the gang lifestyle and positively impact their community.

Prevention Measures: Along with providing financial aid, the program will also include workshops or seminars that focus on gang prevention, life skills, decision making, and building resilience.

Partnership and Funding: We will collaborate with local schools, law enforcement, and community groups to identify potential candidates for the scholarship. We will also consider fundraisers, grants, or partnering with businesses or philanthropists to fund the program.

Long Term Goals: To create a network of individuals who have successfully navigated gang life and are now role models, offering mentorship to future scholarship recipients.
